Two weeks reflection
Due to one world week and communion we will not be visiting John for a couple of weeks, except at home when we're reading the next two chapters! So we have time to reflect again on what we have learnt so far. It would be nice, if people havethe time, to share with each other how the study has impacted us over the last few weeks - what have been our favourite verses, when has God spoken to us, what difference have the readings made to how we have done things.
As a starting point I have included in this post a prayer that Sue put into the last comments section as I think it is a powerful and lovely piece of writing.
The talk on Sunday (which I was able to listen to today thanks to the podcast) made me think of this prayer I heard years ago. A terminally ill patient wrote it out for me while I was a student nurse ; it was a way she was holding on to God during her illness, and we had a conversation about it. It inspired me!
"You are ushering in another day
untouched and freshly new,
so here I come to ask You God
if You'll renew me too?
Forgive the many errors
that I made yesterday,
and let me try again
dear God, to walk closer
in Thy Way.
But Father, I am well aware
I can't make it on my own.
So take my hand and hold it tight
for I can't walk alone."

Another break
We rest again this week from our journey through John which means you have longer to read the next 2 chapters. We're up to chapters 7&8 in case you've forgotten. Remember that you can still make comments on what we've been reading, new commentators especially welcome!!
This week we have a family service during which we shall be blessing Indira so we shall be welcoming her family and friends.
